Embark on an immersive four-day journey into the heart of North African musical heritage.

Join us for an intensive seminar exploring the intricate connections between the sophisticated classical traditions of the Andalusian Nuba, the hypnotic, trance-inducing rhythms of Gnawa music, and the soulful, spirited melodies of the Chaabi repertoire. Guided by two master musicians, this workshop offers a rare, practical, and creative setting to explore the nuances of these distinct yet deeply intertwined musical worlds.

Throughout the seminar, we will delve into the melodic modes and structural logic of the Andalusian repertoire, the driving rhythmic cycles of Gnawa, and the vibrant, storytelling essence of Chaabi. Participants will work on repertoire, phrasing, ornamentation, and the art of improvisation, while gaining insight into the historical and cultural dialogue between these styles.

Open to all instrumentalists and vocalists interested in exploring these rich traditions.

The music will be taught through a balance of oral tradition and structural analysis, with a focus on deep listening and collective ensemble playing. The workshop will culminate in a unique public performance, where participants and mentors will weave together a rich, collaborative tapestry of sound. Join Elad Levi and Hind Ennaira for an exploration of beauty, depth, and rhythm—a process rooted in mastery but fueled by curiosity and creative joy.
